Serious let down after Choctaw Bingo. Then again, most anything that follows a song about trying to sleep with your two hot meth dealing redneck cousins is going to pale by comparison. :)

Sounds too much like R.E.M. for my taste. Ish. But I'll give it a 2 instead of a 1 because it's not R.E.M.

Reminds me of Gin Blossoms. Heh, I should pull that disc out solely for nostalgic purposes.

I could have swore it was that "I wish" song by Pearl Jam... Then it turned to Countring Crows. I hate bands that sound like other bands!!!

I'm pretty sure this was used as theme music at some point on the TV show "Scrubs."

Hmm, I thought the same thing. Must've been a movie.

REM without the emotional distance. Which is a good thing. (Eliminating the emotional distance, that is.)

Sweet, sticky, mellow pop rock... It's not for everyone, but I dig it. And, yes, there is a lot of R.E.M. in this, but everyone is a rip off of someone else.

I've just personally discovered the Josh Joplin Group. They remind me somewhat of Carbon Leaf--who I LOVE! And who I also discovered here at RP.

Compositionally, this band is way beyond anything REM has ever written or produced. These players are in a completely different league than REM, who were never about musicianship anyway.

Not the best song on the album, but the album is pheonomenal. Great band! Pick up a copy and give it a listen. Great rock/pop songs.
