Almost Pink Floyd sound sans lyrical bite or mind twist.

The beginning of Finest Worksong sounds very similar to this song's opening...

Really?  This song hasn't been played enough on FM?  I listen to Radio Paradise to get away from this drivel.

Give me a break, the aboriginal/Native sounding intro. (first minute) is the only part I like.

I enjoyed this as a kid when it first came out and I'm enjoying it now. It ain't a great song by any means, but it's worth hearing every now and then.

Funny, I knew Tom Cochrane was formerly part of Red Rider but I never connected Red Rider and this song which received considerable air play in the 1980s.

I was crawling across Africa when this came out.

Nice to hear.  Just don't play it too often, please!

I'm filing this under "Songs I never thought I'd hear on RP"!
This and "White Hot" are the only 2 songs I recall by them offhand.
I wasn't a fan of the band but those 2 songs were OK.

Not only is this song on Red Rider's album, it is also on the soundtrack to the movie "Vision Quest" from the 80s. Just another useless bit of drivel brought to you by the NWG network.

We still love you anyway.

Great bit of 80s retro here.  I am repeatedly flabbergasted by Bill's mastery of just about every musical genre.

or perhaps Def Leppard sounds like them, since Red Rider was around way before :)

Actually, according to Wikipedia, Def Leppard formed one year before Red Rider.  I for one, don't think they sound like one another at all.  As an aside, despite being a proud Canadian, I don't really care for Red Rider or Tom Cochrane's solo stuff.  I seemed to like them when I was a teenager, for some reason.

Tom Cochrane before going solo. Went to a Halloween party once and this guy was wrapped in fringe from head to toe with a clown face - he was the lunatic fringe
