While his stuff is OK, Stevie's getting a little too heavy of a rotation on RP for my taste. Granted, there's some good qualities here, but I don't need to hear him every day. Once every couple of months would suit me just fine.
There are PLENTY of groups and tracks from the 60s forward that don't get enough play on RP, Traffic being but one, Joe Cocker being another. These are just a couple of examples. RARELY do we ever hear any Steve Miller Band (albeit I don't need to hear anything from his Joker days going forward; I'm talking about tracks from Number 5, Sailor, Children of the Future, et al.).

Bought this album 2 years ago at Waterloo Records in Austin, Texas. My first reaction to this album was anger...anger for waiting so long in discovering this magnificient album. Better late than never, I guess. |

How can you not dance to this—bass is awesome, horns are the best—so I think this is one of Stevie's best....and there are many in that group! :-) |

Best bass line ever. Seriously. This is my ringtone and every time it rings, the people around me start bopping.
Awhile back I caught a documentary on the making of this album. Might have been on VH1 Classic or some cable channel. Very interesting stuff, Stevie was on top of things in the studio.

Why would you have to look them up? Stevie's singing is very easy to understand--he e-nun-cee-eights!
And how 'bout them horns!!!! |

I did not know them either. I remember being a kid in my half-brothers house and listening to this on vinyl.

If anyone DOESN'T start chairbopping when that intro riff starts, they should be checked for a pulse immediately.
A great work from one of the masters.
