From "Shake, Rattle, and Roll" to this song - you guys are determined to keep me from doing anything productive today, aren't you?

Pleasant enough track from the Talking Heads Lite phase of the band.

Most artists who dabble in "weird" and "quirky" usually end up with "dark".
Byrne managed to use weird and quirky to create "happy"

Ok, this has been a great set -- Neil Young "Throw Your Hatred Down." the Clash "Clampdown," Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller "That's Entertainment", Big Joe Turner "Shake, Rattle, and Roll," and Talking Heads.
How am I supposed to get any work done?
Would have been better if had Jam version of "That's Entertainment" but now I'm getting picky.

This and "Love for Sale" were a couple of my favorite tracks on True Stories. Pretty cool videos for both, if I recall.

Maybe not their "best," but still among their best. And better than most of what's out there.

He disappeared in a cloud of hairspray.
You're confusing him with John Waters...happens pretty often. I think they both own an Astro-Turf suit. |

As soon as I hear this guy's voice, I always reach for sucko-barfo immediately. I often like music with singer's who can't really sing: frank black, lou reed, flaming lips, no problem. but this guy just sounds terrible i think.
most people here really seem to like it though. as i'm always open to learn, could somebody please tell me which point i'm missing and why this stuff is supposed to be so great?
thanks,
jeroen

Talking Heads are really past it by this point. Why not something off one of their earlier (much) albums, like "77" or "Remain in Light"

I just watched true stories a couple of weks ago. The movie has not aged gracefully. It is very experimental (not necessarely bad) but a lot of empty spaces. I do like a lot the Karaoke bar scene..yes... |
