This song is worth it just for the hollering at the end: "HAH!! HAH!!" Love that.

This came up in response to hitting the PSD button, and seems ideal as I sit at my desk working on this dull grey monday morning.

Doesn't hold up too well these days. Used to kind of like this tune years ago...nowadays I feel as if the ending is still the best part of the song.

I'm sure it labels me as a total dork, but I love Talking Heads. Quirky, observant, snarky, unconventional... It took me almost thirty years to appreciate their music, lyrics, and instrumental prowess, but I'm finally there. No TH on vinyl, cassette, or CD, but that will be changing soon.

Geez - I guess I really AM getting old.{#Roflol}

I loved them the first time i heard them...Providence RI in the early 80's.  So different, so smart, & yes I love the snarkiness as well

Funny...I completely agree with you about both artists

Don't be shy!  I gave it a 4.

I admire the chutzpah of a guy making a success of such a hideous voice, and I really like the group's rhythms, but Talking Heads snapped up fresh new shelf space at a time when the listening public was stampeding in horror away from Barry Manilow.  Who could NOT sound good after THAT!

It took me one song - Psycho Killer - on the Max's Kansas City jukebox in 1977 to appreciate TH.

You're a late bloomer - what can I say.  But welcome.

One of my favorite T Heads songs.  Listened to this incessantly while my first marriage was falling apart - I'm not kidding.  {#Smile}

Much happier now and I still love this song.

Souvenir Foto assignment No. 7: Forced perspective & Faux tilt shift

I was out in Folsom briefly on Sunday to take my cats to the vet, and since it's not far from nowhere, I drove around looking for a shot that I could faux tilt shit and this seemed to fit the bill. I had fun with the program, and would like to play around with it a lttle more. I think it'll open my eyes to photo opportunities I may not have noticed otherwise.

I haven't been feeling too great this week, so I haven't had a chance to get out to take any other photos. I'm really hoping to be able to capture a forced perspective shot today before the deadline, but even if I don't, my interest in forced perspective has been piqued enough that I'll be doing one very soon, even if it can't be for the group. :)

When I was young I had a 90 minute cassette with Talking Heads Litlle Creatures on one side and Ganggajang's self titled first album on the other.  I had to make a 3rd copy because I destroyed the first 2 by overplaying in my cheap knock off walkman.

Grab a DVD of the movie Stop Making Sense and watch it on a set equipped with good sound. Then you will know the Talking Heads.

Maybe this is a tad overplayed. It's still good enough, just not as much of a pleasant surprise as some other RP choices.

The ratings distribution tells the story - one of the defining albums of 80's art rock. If you were there, remember that a lot of the attraction was that it spoke to you when others seemed oblivious. Any wonder that still happens? Geeks ascendant, fighting their way to the top.

I was in Jr. High when my brother brought this album home.  It was accepted that it was the Latest Album by a Very Great Band that has done Many Other Things that I hadn't heard of yet but Should. I Did. and I'm Glad.
