Everyone remembers that scene. Search Google and you can see the clip, freeze frames of the scene, discussions of the scene...it's everywhere.

My uncle was the casting director for the movie. He and the director (a woman) had to beg Phoebe's mother to let her do the scene/movie. She finally agreed, but insisted that only the director, Phoebe, and cameraman were on set.

Good thing nobody else saw her topless.

Yeah, especially since this movie is so rarely seen. This is the only song by The Cars that I ever really cared for.

Overplayed as the Cars have become, I still feel their first 2 releases are pretty brilliant...

Always did like this song... one of their best, I think. The bass line is great!

Diggin' on that 1979 cruising in the old 11-miles per gallon Cutlass watching the world go by vibe...with THIS on the Audiovox 8-track!

OHMYGOD it's all mixed up!

This brings back memories. High school junior, 1980, lying on my bed wearing headphones, stoned, listening to the first Cars album and thinking it was the coolest, trippiest thing ever. Then my dad walked in and completely harshed my buzz.

Wow. Seamless segue from Depeche Mode - Precious. Too bad the rest of this lame tune had to follow it.

I think this is the first time on RP that I've gone straight from "great segue" to "mute".

I like both tunes...and totally agree with you on the segue, if not the song...NICE!
