Jimi would get a 9 from me for just tuning his guitar. He is the Man!

I'm convinced that someone runs around the RP song pool giving every song a "1".

What do you mean he walked off stage? When during the show? Im too young to have actually seen Jimi live but I've heard some weird stuff about his live shows. Of course I've heard his live CD's, which are mostly great. I did hear a live tune with a drunk Jim Morrison (?) screaming lame obscenities throughout the song. Most of the live recordings are really hip. Im definitely curious about what the shows were like. Please tell more..

This song and "Red House" are both Hendrix classics. When I was young, Jimi was just too "hard" for me. Now I appreciate his enormous talent.

Just pick up the Band of Gypsies on DVD.

Machine Gun is one that will give you all you need to know about Hendrix!

They say that immitation is the highest form of flattery... how many hundred, no thousands, of guitarists have emulated this single virtuoso. I hear Hendrix imitation in every thing from rap to classical.

Who can deny the ultimate artist of the 60's?

Sting's version is nice. Especially when he sings "that she gives to me freeeeeeeeeeee"

I haven't heard Jimi's version for quite awhile. SRV seems to get all the airplay. Saw Hendrix about six times. He walked off stage 4 out of the six. Normally that would turn me off an artist, but after all that was Jimi Hendrix, Guitar God. Absolutely the best song writer and guitar wizard of all time.

It's alright Kevin, that's one of the things that makes life interesting that not everyone likes the same thing. At least you weren't afraid to speak your mind.
