Excellent song. Actually, the album (yes, I had it on vinyl) was very good. Wish Bruce could have followed it up with more greatness.

He definitely has.

There are a number of albums on RP that contain some wonderful music.

Wow I was immediately thrown back to 5th grade...befor I got braces, after I got glasses. Needless to say, not very fond memories. Good song though...{#Tongue-out}

He subsequently took a side gig as a temporary drummer for Spinal Tap, and has never been heard from since...

Still an appropriate song, especially these days.

That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
But don't you believe them

Many, many miles of driving on road trips were enriched by this and 'Scenes From The Southside'.  Thanks Bruce for making the miles pass so much easier.

Oh goodness.  Is it time to be nostalgic for this already?  I didn't get the memo.  Uh, catch me in another 5 years due to over exposure the first time around.

that stupid little synth line close to the start still annoys the pants off me, 20 years on; a crappy 80s thing to do that spoils an otherwise interesting song, still, those outfits on the album cover don't get any more crappy 80s either

Back in the day when I was kicking my skateboard around town and slamdancing to the Misfits, I would secretly put this song on my headphones and walk through the cornfields by my house. There's always been something in it that really spoke to me. And yes, I can admit it now...but don't tell Ron or Noah...they'll kick my ass

Why? I was getting so much work done, in a nice brain flow, then EERK! complete stop by this drivel.

edit: by this crap. (I see drivel has been used recently :)

Exactly the kind of sentimental drivel I turn to RP to avoid.

Quite simply, a very good song from a very good musician/singer/songwriter.

And if I had to hear an overplayed song here, I'm glad its this one. As good as pop ever gets.

Yes, and still ... letting it rest from time to time makes you realize that this is a great song. A real classic.

Best concert I have ever seen.
