Album-wise, perhaps this one is my favourite Supertramp. I always find this particular song (and "Love Boat"(?) on the same album) quite refreshing.
The band gave a very impressive studio live performance in Tokyo some years prior to their worldwide rise to popularity with "Breakfast in America", which was video-recorded and subsequently aired over NHK TV over here in late '70s. The programme itself was aired only twice due to copyright restriction (as far as I know). I was a teenager back then and knew nothing about the band, but when I watched this studio live by chance, their music immediately got me hooked....

I'm exactly the opposite. I usually hate prog-rock, but I love these guys. |

This is one of the best songs from this super-group, which didn't come anywhere close to over-exposure until Breakfast in America. Before then, they were just a very-well kept secret. Crime, Crisis, and Quietest were all simply masterpieces.
I'm with you on the reunion tour business, but only 'cause it wouldn't be necessary, or maybe even possible, given the differences between Hodgson & Davies.
Yeah, I guess I can concur with you on the over-exposure factor. Although AFAIK, most of their albums were actually platinum, which hardly qualifies as obscure. the funny thing is that I really love a lot of prog-rock, but just never liked these guys. That doesn't mean anything more than I just don't care for Supertramp, not that their music isn't any good. Clearly many see it differently. :) |

I love Supertramp, have since I was a teen, and this is a good song for certain, but there are others I would prefer to hear on RP... how about "Fool's Overture", from the same album or "School" from Crime of the Century, or "The Meaning" from Crisis?

That was nicely put cause I never got into supertramp but just remember the hits from breakfast in america. From the sounds of this song sounds like something I would find worthwhile checking into.
Oh I forgot about the bloody well right song! I always liked that one! |

i am fascinated by anyone who is so narrow-minded that they think people can't enjoy different genres of music, although it helps if they can spell.

Wow. Those are sure some strong feelings... watch it, you could give yourself liver cancer that way!

Do I have a huge delay here, or are six hundred people racing to get the first word in?
This tune is cool. Never got played to death, like Breakfast, Logical, etc.
