Damn. "Officially" I hate EC but I have to admit that after a couple of glasses of vino this particular track sounds pretty cool. This was not supposed to happen!

Oh for goodness' sake, nobody is crazy or wrong for disliking a song. Thank you for sharing your passion, but please.

I myself am totally 6 on elvis, with rare 9 exceptions (thistown, seniorservice). This is what's great about music, different timbres different emotions in different people etc.

True indeed. It's all too easy to forget ourselves and turn our own musical tastes into some sort of lame self-important competition with others. Sometimes we all need chill.

EC squeezes more words into his songs than most performers. Having seen him live recently and comparing him to when I saw him back in the late seventies, I remain amazed how he can sing so manywordsalljammedtogertherinthesongwhichisalreadychockfullofwords.

No wonder other artistes dont cover his songs too often!

One of my very favorite EC songs. The first song I heard that made me want to hear more from Elvis. If you don't like it, you are both crazy and wrong.

Dear Mr. Costello: Please go to Chelsea. Stay there. Stop singing. Thank you for your attention to this plea for a cessation to your whining singing.

edit on 12/27/05: Revised my view and rating of this thing. At a distance, it sounds like the Seeds' "Pushing Too Hard." Costello grows on one, I guess, although admitting that makes me feel a bit like buying a cream for this revision condition.

I don't particularly like every comment people make on RP; just because you agreed with the previous post doesn't mean everyone has to, or that they're out of line if they have a little fun disagreeing.

There is a Chelsea in Massachusetts (in addition to the one in England that Elvis sings about) that you certainly would not want to go to.....

Not for nothin', but this is the best station I'VE heard, audio warts and all...

And why does the start of this song remind me of "Mirror in the Bathroom"?
