Amazing. Never heard of him before. Where is this guy? Is he still playing? I hear he was with Procol Harum, and being a Jethro Tull fan(atic), I should have seen him in one of JT's tours. Sounds like Hendrix in so many ways, but with a better voice. I could buy his albums now that I know what I've been missing.

Yes he is still around, and he is great to see live. You should buy Bridge of Sighs, it's a great album. Here's a link to his site:

Procol Harum was one of my favorite bands and Trower was the guitar that moved it all along. I was lucky enough to catch him on his first solo tour at the Whisky a Go-Go. Years later after all the hits and misses he still plays the frets off that Stratocaster.

Go Jimi Jr.!

I saw the Trower/Crimson tour in LA. What should have been a horrible mismatch in styles turned out to be a damn fine time.

Some promoter was smart enough to recognize that good musicianship is always welcome, regardless of style.

I'm still not sure about the Candy John/Hawkwind bill, though.

Agreed re: Dewar's vocals.

Trower's the best... next to Jimi. SRV is just a notch behind Robin.

I saw them perform in Pittsburgh, uhhhh, a few years ago. What a show. Crimson is responsible for the start of my tinnitus, but I digress. Trower was another one of my absolute favorites. I, too, completely wore out the album and the cassettes I made from it. I miss 'em.

Love Robin Trower. How nice to hear something besides "Bridge of Sighs" (which IS a great song, too).

Did Trower ever play at the Armadillo? I saw someone back in the early 70's at AWHQ that did a lot of Hendrix covers, very expertly done. I forgot who it was, but I have always just assumed it was SRV, except it was just a bit too early for Stevie. Maybe it was Trower?

This is one of the greatest songs of all time. Having seen Trower front for Jethro Tull at the LA Coluseum to an intimate setting at the La Casa de La Raza and the Coach House here in Santa Barbara, as well as his gig at the Graduate in Isla Vista, I have seen him in a few forms, but this is one of the greatest Hendrixest songs ever recorded not by Hendrix. He knows electric blues like no one else.

Love this song and many others by Robin Trower. Saw him a few years ago at the Blue Note in Columbia, MO and he still rocks. I think "Sweet Wine of Love" would make another good addtion to RP's lineup (hint, hint) ;)
