A breakthrough! Tell me, Mr. Ray - or may I call you Sting? These feelings of jealousy and inadequacy regarding your Grandfather, were they always...looks like our hour is up, we'll continue next Saturday.

It sounds like - and I bet it is like - you have noooo fun whatsoever in your actual life.
Or is this life already over?

Why you do not go to an OLDIE-station, if you bath in nothing but the past!

The past was wild,
the past was great,
the past was fun,
the past was...
just better!

Guess who says that?

Reminds me of an idiot I used to be friends with.  The time I spent with him in the past sucked.  The present is better without him.

Gets my vote for one of the best guitar solos. He chose the right notes, rhythm, tone/effect and style for the composition. This guy is the super-mega master, and not just on this song.

"Philosophy is the talk on a cereal box...shove me in the shallow water before I get too deep." Don't worry, honey. You can't possibly get too deep. That said, I've always loved this song for the New Bohemians. Good band. Too bad their singer got ripped off.

She is the forerunner of so many cutesy chick singers that have since come along.  Still like to hear this track.

I understand the hate, and I agree with it. But for me it is at least nostalgic hate...

So I give it a 6 for nostalgic hate.

At least the cover art shows the correct name.  Geesh, give Bill a break for saving a few keystrokes...

My average song rating for RP is upwards of 8, so I am not usually a hater.  But I have always hated this song because of the annoying repetitive vocal.

If this song would have come out a tiny bit later, they would have been huge! They could have toured with Rusted Root...anyway, great song!

C'mon, this has a "thing" to it.  Did then, does now.  Catchy, acoustic slinking, and the bass lick.  She was nasty sexy on that video, as I recall.  Whoever said ". . . or what?" in a record?  Blah-blah.  Nice trip back in time, Bill.
