if you listen to the entire song (particularly the bit in french at the end of the song, which unfortunately tends to get cut off by most DJs, even here...), you might revise your idea. there's unsuspected depth in most of Manu Chao's songs -- he masks some fairly dark emotions with his bouncy "fun" sound.
