Actually, this was not produced by Penn. It was produced by Jon Brion, who has also done great work with Rufus Wainwright and Fiona Apple.

Now I see why I always keep hearing Fiona on this track, its the same backing instumentation, and the same production.

That's an interesting take on it. "No time to find something good ... think I'll plug in some Aimee Mann." Or maybe, "I need somebody who can't help but sing through her nose and somehow sob at the same time."

Check out Ph.D. Comics for a great take on grad school. http://www.phdcomics.com/comics.php

I feel your pain, as I slog through my creative block with a presentation looming Friday. But no pressure!

Ahhhhhh . . . .

Hang in there!

superb song from an excellent tunesmith - terrific album

I love her duet with her man Mr. Penn on Two of Us cover from I Am Sam soundtrack

And did you know Elvis C. wrote The Other End of the Telescope with her - her version is cool - lets hear it Bill

I'll put my vote in the other direction. She's brilliant and under-played in the wide, wide world. So am happy to hear a song a day. :)

That may seem odd to some. But it's real. People do have hard lives and interact with the gov and media as a result. It's so surreal when the lights come up and the camera is pointed at you.

Been there. Don't want it again.

Huh, funny. I've seen Magnolia many times, and would say it's one of my favorite movies ever. And yet I have no idea what you're talking about (except the frog part, who could forget that!?).
Maybe I just have terrible memory..???

Slightly off point here (brilliant tune, expertly produced), but does anyone anywhere know why this movie was called "Magnolia"? I've never heard a good explanation.

This is the only soundtrack I've ever purchased. Loved the movie. Loved the music. It felt like my life, frogs falling from the sky and all.
