Seems like Sandy Denny strikes a nerve on some people. Myself, I remember this coming out. It blew me away then and it still does now. Fairport Convention was a major influence in my life. Please keep playing these classics.

A great song from a definitve group, I hope Sandy Denny is reclining is a hammock in the great beyond sipping a libation of her choice... rock on Richard Thompson.

Oh, and I was 5 when this track came out... so don't dis me for clinging to my musical past because I chose to defend the ever-so-virtuous Fairport Convention......

Great classic folk from THE seminal Brit folk group.
I wish I didn't have to work today - they're playing at a local theatre tonight and I'd love to see them again. They always put on an inspiring show. http://riverfolk.org/

Alison Krauss seems to be someone who can follow in Sandy Denny's footsteps.

I am very impressed to hear Fairport Convention on Radio Paradise. I had not realised they were known outside Great Briton. Try “Who knows were the time goes” from the ”Unhalfbricking” album or any of their early work (pre 1971).

A song for all times, redolent of medieval fairs and atavistic recreations. Always welcome when it appears on the playlist.
