When I hear music like this (delta blues) it makes me feel proud that I'm a descendant of slaves. I'm in the process of setting up in Texas on land that my great grand father purchased 11 years after slavery ended. Being a city raised person being able to have RP give me a piece of home in a new town and then to play music like this is amazing. Hearing the blues in the south has added meaning to me.

at first, i thought this was from the "O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU?"
soundtrack. but seriously, this is wonderful music. there is something to be said for a group of singers gathered around a mike and letting their hearts and souls out. bravo!!!

Not surprised that the discerning listeners of RP rate this cut highly. It does raise those neck hairs indeed! This is a truly classic U.S. singing group. Of course, I am a fan of Sacred Harp a capella too, so I will like most groups like this one. What amazing harmonies. The voices weave in and out among one another and create a tapestry without any holes . . . the voices seem to all put their arms around one another. That is what I call a great blending.

when you're stuck on a project and you want to blame it on someone else, then Blind Boys Of Alabama sings "Nobody's Fault But Mine"...

Me too... November at the Cap Center in Washington DC. Although I didn't catch at first it was to Amazing Grace!! Their version of Walk On .... which moby redid was what *I* thought was awesome!!! Although in general, I think the concert on the whole was a bit too loud ... but it was definately memorable..

and .. if that jack-hole that kept screaming out songs he wanted Peter Gabriel to do is reading this... you don't deserve to listen to RadioParadise, go suck on a running automobile's exhaust pipe somewhere... Peter wasn't there for *YOU* he was there for us ALL!!

Saw/heard them when they opened for Peter Gabriel's (UP) tour 12/02. Kind of cool knowing a little bit about them (due entirely to RP!!). They did an acapella rendition of "Amazing Grace" set to the tune of "House of the Rising Sun" which was quite moving. (Go ahead and try it! It fits nicely). And boy! my buttons are STILL vibrating from the man singing bass. Powerful musicians and presentation. I suppose PG's audio engineers had a little to do with it as well. WHEW!

This song raises the hair on the back of my neck, and there is a fair bit there to raise! Seriously, the harmonies are beautiful and the song is full of the soulfulness that gospel seems to embody.

Absolutely outstanding. You can play these Boys anytime, even if you have to change your byline to "Eclectic Intelligent Gospel."
