I've never been crazy about Tracy Chapman, thinking she sounds too much like Joan Armatrading (who I like a lot better) but this is nice.

Really fine effort. Top of the tree all round.
Joan, well she not only paved the ground and as such deserves deity, but Joan has also set the bar. Does Tracy reach it? Darn close with this effort for mine........

This album is her best work...what she doin' today?  She's very mellow in concert.  Saw her over ten years ago...the Neville Bros. opened for her and ROCKED the house!

Yes.

Thank GOD someone is recognizing the rest of this album and playing this album for the jewel that it is.

Tori Amos cant hold a mirror to Tracy when it comes to integrity. It makes Tori seem like, well, smoke and ashes. Tracy seems like the real deal, making real music, rather than just trying to be subtly sexual and get attention and drop acid and turning the result into 'art'. I love Toris music and find it healing, but her whole image and vendetta against certain world religions is quite distracting. But Tracy is a real breath of fresh air. No alienating political statements, no 20 page booklets full of pictures of her in different poses in every CD sleeve, just pure, raw soul set to music.

Thank you, Tracy.

Personal opinion, this CD is her best work. It's inspired from beginning to end.
