ok. I'm done with this one for a while. Seems like I hear it way too often here. Has this enemble/group/duo done ANYthing else worth playing here? If not, could we give it a rest. Pretty please? |

Saw Magic Slim and the Teardrops a couple of months ago and the whole band is amazing! They really played their hearts out. |

I have the House of Blues "This Ain't No Tribute" cd's of the Stones and Bob Dylan and have found the versions of the songs to be outstanding across the board. Someone over there is really in touch with the music. I'll have to pick this one up, too.

Agree with you Johray. Old authentic blues, like old Hank Williams country, is much more interesting to me than most of the more produced and formulaic of the offerings in these genres today. Again, not all, but most. |

Hey, you guys shouldn't compare the versions. This song is for the "blues folks", whether Led Zep is for rockers. The sound, the mood and the atmosphere of the Led Zep song is above any discussion. For my opinion it stands beyond every other band of that time (sabbath, purple or whatever).

Don't know whether or not they've been there, and lived the blues more than the Led Zeppelin guys did, but it sure sounds that way! Led Zeppelin, no matter how inventive, always sounded like an interpretation of the blues.
Blues can be very boring and predictive, but when it's performed like these people do, there's nothing like it. |
