Aside from Love Shack, I will never, ever understand how the B-52s became popular.

What's not to like about a song where a smoke alarm has its own solo?

I once (badly) karaoked this song at a local bar, and when it was over, I looked down saw Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters sitting in the crowd. Yikes!
p.s. I think it's pink "air", not hair, because no one has a head remember?

Did.
Someone threw a shoe on stage. Schneider grabs it, dancing, holds it up and exclaims "What a TACKY SHOE!!!!"
Great.
Kinds these days don't know how sucky radio music was when this came through like a breath of fresh pink air. |

WELL SHE ISN'T is still one of the best lines in music, and this tune ROCKS like a -- well, like a ROCK LOBSTER!
Digable to the max, and timeless as a whacky sci-fi keyboard...
ROCK LOB!
There's a moon in the sky -- it's called THE MOON...
How I love that band!

Based on what I've heard, I believe Bill has constructed a number of lists that are 4-6 hours long, which he occasionally repeats. He's just one person after all. He has to sleep sometime.
What's scary is that after I've heard a list 2-3 times, I can occasionally predict what song will come next. |
