I triple whoever said they doubled that excellent comment, and I cannot but add that I feel A LUCKY MAN because here I sit working on the trippy novel and I got RP coming out of my PC on a sunny Tokyo aft and snowy Fuji-san is way off out the kitchen window and the downtown skyline is a bit closer out the bedroom and three weeks remain in the spring vacay and a bit of orange and green is about to go under the fire and though I hear hurricanes a blowin' and I feel The End is near I shall not fear because The Good Lord is My Shepherd and anyway that is a righteous good song as well...

Quite simply one of my favorite albums. Very interesting to see Richard Ashcroft and company evolve from the pyscho-sensible space rock of "A Storm in Heaven" to the Oasis-tinged Brit rock of "A Northern Soul" to the tunes on "Urban Hymns." Ashcroft's solo stuff is mostly hit or miss beginning with the country-esque "Alone with Everybody" but through it all, I can always turn to this album, and this track in particular, for a good listen. Love it.

totally agree with you.

so, if you rip off the stones and score a hit, get sued, and then theres another track which rips off the song which ripped off the stones, can you be sued again, or sue yourself?

The interesting thing about this album, great songs aside, is the fact that it is easy to hear the difference between the rowdy rock'n'roll side of the band, and the more softly spoken ballads of the singer. The album is very much split, but nevertheless a solid unity.

Not very surprised when the band broke up after this album was released, but what an album!

I wonder if they broke up because of the horrible deal they made with the Rolling Stones for the song Bittersweet Symphony, which would have been a big moneymaker for the band.
