There are some wonderful songs on this album. But this isn't one of them. Just several minutes of Bowie trying to find some sort of melody. A total mess.

Never saw the attraction. If I want on AOR concept album, give me Rush or Styx any day.

Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is a classic...
Old Bowie is the best...

I like the Bauhaus cover much better too. Now if only RP would prove that's it's *really* eclectic, and play some Bauhaus... or Joy Division... or any of dozens of brilliant rock bands that i haven't heard here yet.

This would get a 10 from me if only you'd play the original album version or one of the radio versions from the "Live at the Beeb" double album...

Not the strongest version I've ever heard. I was fortunate enough to catch a screening of the remastered Ziggy Stardust film last week, thanks to living in San Francisco. I am fond of the Bauhaus rendition, but nobody did it like Ziggy live on stage with Mick Ronson on screaming guitar.

Diverging into random comments on Bowie guitarists: Ronson is still and likely always will be his best guitarist. I'd rather listen to a Belew solo album than a Ronson solo album, but Ronson was Bowie's perfect guitarist with his raw energy and power.

Mind you, the only time I've ever seen Bowie live was the Glass Spider tour. Not such a great performance, but Alomar and Frampton were hot...

Roger Powell (ex-Utopia) on Keyboards
Simon House (Hawkwind) on violin
Adrian Belew (ex-Talking Heads, pre-King Crimson) on guitar

What an incredible show this was... All bright white rapid on fluorescent lights. Chamberlain set up in the middle of the stage. This was immediately after the Low and "Heroes" record. Sigh....
