Actually, I thought it had more of a Mark Anthony beat. I'm afraid to admit it's an OK song. |

It strikes me that Kershaw is a killer fiddle player (though my memory is a bit faded here). If I'm right, could we hear one of those earlier tunes with him wielding the horsehair?

My sentiments exactly! |

I heard this song on RP and had to hear the rest of the album. Really good album, I'm glad I found it! |

This song is great fun, and I was appreciating the "La Bamba" thing, but this is the first time I noticed that it's in 6/4. Or 4/4 - 2/4. Gives a cool, slightly off kilter feeling to it.

Listen to the album "To Be Frank". It's witty and more
relaxed, free of Nik's past haunting him... |

Having only heard a few of his songs, and having been very impressed with them, I must ask: is young Nik as terrific and talented as I think he might be? Which CD of his should I start with?

RIGHT ON. Now that's getting into the "meat" of the song my friend. |

I have yet to hear this tune while I've been listening but, I am a big Nik Kershaw fan and can't wait to hear his latest musical stylings.
Heard a tune of his off another album. The song is called "Somebody Loves You" and it was great. Wondering if there's any chance of it getting played on here? I actually own it on an extended CD single which also includes a great acoustic version of his 80's tune "Wouldn't It Be Good" which also could be a good addition to the Paradise Playlist.
Thanks for playing the tunes, I try to tune in for a couple hours a day... and I like what I hear!

Nik Kershaw returned to fold after more than 8 years away from recording. He spent the 'break' writing songs for others, including Ronan Keating.
This is a much different Kershaw to the one we knew in the 80's (songs like 'Wouldn't it be good', 'The riddle' etc) but I like this song. Fast and funky!! There are some other fine tracks on this latest CD (To Be frank) including the very clever "Die laughing" - probably the pick of the bunch. Any chance of playing it?
Anyway enough of the ramblings. Thanks Radio Paradise for playing this.

It's fun and sounds good. Kind of strange lyrics but sometimes I just want to hear something to move to.

Well, you could have thought it was Doug Kershaw. |

I really like the salsa beat, trumpets, etc. It is salsa I think, but I could be wrong of course.

Catchy! I was really surprised to see this was Nik Kershaw. Doesn't sound anything like the Nik Kershaw I remember - "The Riddle" and all that stuff from the 80s.

At the end, it's definitely very similar. |
