Hey, I really like this. :)
I have to agree, it does sound a little Poe-ish, and Sarah McLachlan comes to mind as well. Why does everything HAVE to be "original"? :???:
If it sounds good, it sounds good, leave it at that. I'll have to check out more songs from this band. Thanks again RP!

I thought this was Sarah McLachlan until I looked @ Winamp.

Talk about unoriginal....

So this is the new It band? I think they're pretty unimpressive, from what I've heard of them.

Somewhat pop-ish but so what? Sounds nice for now and then.

A good song, and one of the most alluring band names I've ever heard!

Very cool. I'm always bummed when I catch it halfway through.

I was actually thinking that she has a similar sound to Poe's vocals... some of the stuff off the last album... but a good listen just the same.

This is why this station rules my world! I went out last night and bought this cd and the disk is unbelievable! Should win a grammy, but won't.

They do put on a great show... after seeing them live at a bookstore I picked up a copy of "Eventide" and was pretty disappointed. This song sounds more like what I was expecting. Not bad.

I love the song and got the album "A Little Voodoo". I have also seen these guys live. (They really put on a great, fun, dynamic live show.)

The album has really fun, fast tunes (Big Red Boat, If I Was), an 80's style rock tune (He and She), Some very modern sounding tunes that are better than most of what you hear on mainstream radio (Close Your Eyes, Keep On, The One, Oh No) and some more mellow tunes (Good Folks, All Because of You). The band is tight, the writing is inspired, the vocals are provocative, sensual and dynamic. Vocally think Natalie Merchant, Sarah McLachlan, Kate Bush, Poe, etc. One noted music editor has described them “Audrey Hepburn fronting Genesis”. It's a great CD to turn your friends on to and then listen to them say “why haven't I heard of this band before?”

Similar Artists: Dave Matthews, Poe, Natalie Merchant, Counting Crows, Peter Gabriel, Guster, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Aimee Mann, Kate Bush, Indigo Girls, Sting, U2, Cranberries, Cowboy Junkies...

The voice and production kinda remind me of Sarah McLachlan (which was the previous track in the playlist, so I guess it's not just me...). Pretty neat.

TO ONE IN PARADISE
Edgar Allan Poe

Thou wast all that to me, love,
For which my soul did pine
A green isle in the sea, love,
A fountain and a shrine,
All wreathed with fairy fruits and flowers,
And all the flowers were mine.
Ah, dream too bright to last!
Ah, starry Hope! that didst arise
But to be overcast!
A voice from out the Future cries,
On! on!- but o’er the Past
(Dim gulf!) my spirit hovering lies
Mute, motionless, aghast!
For, alas! alas! me
The light of Life is o’er!
No more- no more- no more-
(Such language holds the solemn sea
To the sands upon the shore)
Shall bloom the thunder-blasted tree
Or the stricken eagle soar!
And all my days are trances,
And all my nightly dreams
Are where thy grey eye glances ,
And where thy footstep gleams
In what ethereal dances,
By what eternal streams.

...reminds me of an over-produced Cowboy Junkies. But pleasant, nonetheless.
