Great to hear a little Rush on RP.  Great documentary of the band called "Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage".  Don't knock them until you watch it.

Last night was open mic poetry night at the local cafe. Most folks were just reading stuff they liked off the internet so I joined in. I didnt have notes but simply let the crowd know that I DID NOT write the following lines, that they were written by Neil Peart, and that I had been inspired by them at age 14 and had never forgotten them. I then quoted much of this song and "Losing It" and "Natural Science". As I left the stage there was much applause and one college student leaned over to another and said, "That was AWESOME!"
All credit to my favorite band, RUSH!

This song really spoke to me as a teenager in the late 80s, and I imagine the lyrics still can be applied to kids today. Timeless.

"Conform or be cast out..."  This is awesome, love these guys, immense talent. But it wouldn't hurt to play some less traveled tracks from this, or other Rush albums. Almost everything they did was great.

A good friend, whose opinion on most matters I take very seriously, is a Rush devotee, so I keep thinking I must be missing something when I dislike them ... but I still can't find it. Too much like Ambrosia for my tastes.

Actually it was the other way around, but I'd agree most American and Canadian beer is pretty bad with the exception of some of the microbrews. I'll take a Stella, Becks, Sapporo, Guinness or Kilkenny any day!

Beer snobs.  Where's the razzberry icon?

My favorite beer?  Cold.  Or maybe free if not cold.  But definitely cold, free beer.

As music is totally subjective I can understand why some people don't like Rush, but what I don't understand is the lack of appreciation for creative artists when they are trying to explore and innovate...it's perfectly ok to not like Rush, but why so negative!?

Being quite a Prog Rocker, I've tried for decades to like Rush.

So far unsuccessfully...

just now i´m in the mood for enjoying this... although normally rush is one of my favourite "omg - what has this planet done to deserve such rubbish" :-)
overblown synthi-schmonz at it´s very worst - only good thing you could say it´s so bad that is is already good again

Painful!

No doubt they are talented musicians, but nails on the chalkboard nonetheless.....

Sounds like when I was stationed in North Carolina for two years a long time ago. I still cannot listen to Lynard Skynard, not that I liked them much to begin with but I think Free Bird was played on the radio Every. Single. Day. Ugh. I feel your pain but I still love Rush!

Last month they were in Louisville Kentucky at the Yum center where I seen them for the first time since 1985. I took my brother Paul (40), and my baby brother Nick (19). After the show, my brother Nick asked, "Do you think modern musicians like Travis Barker look at these guys and say to themselves I can never be that good?"
My answer was YES.

A nice surprise !!!

My favorite RUSH song from my favorite album, the perfect pick me up today.

I'd still like to hear some of the newer songs that never seem to get on the regular radio.
