I've never heard this cut. The distorted electric "Irish" fiddling is great!

Generally, she's not afraid to speak her mind. Specifically, she tore up a picture of Pope John Paul II during an appearance on SNL years ago, calling him the real enemy or somesuch.
Unfortunately, in her passion, she failed to place her actions in context. One explanation I heard years later was that she was reacting to the Pope's lack of response to the many instances coming to light of children being sexually abused by Catholic priests.
I have deleted several sentences in this post expressing my sympathy with her position against the papacy in general, but that might be too political for this forum. I think I'll just leave off that I love this song. |

Actually her politics aren't really off base..How many wars have been waged in the name religion? It's understandable to deny the truth about something that you hold so much faith in.
And no, I'm not an athiest. I have my faith, but I absolutely hate the way religion has been perverted to suit the needs of power hungry rat bastards.

Generally, she's not afraid to speak her mind. Specifically, she tore up a picture of Pope John Paul II during an appearance on SNL years ago, calling him the real enemy or somesuch. Some have never forgiven her for that. I'm not Catholic, so the Pope incident didn't upset me too much, but I can see how it would be very upsetting for Catholics.
Myself, I don't agree with all of her politics, but I generally like her music. |

An Irish Bjork, ie a fmale artist whose fame extends much more from her stupid comments and behavious from any sembalnce of talent. The only thing I will say for Sinead is that she is not as patently whacko as Bjork.

Love her voice. Can't stand to actually WATCH her sing. Immensely talented and no matter if you hate her or love her, she's always spoken her mind & been truthful in order to stand up for what she believes in. For that, at least, I'll always respect her.
Being a fan of Reggae ~and~ Sinead, I was tickled as hell with her new album. So cool and surreal to hear an Irish brogue in a Rasta tune!

Have to say it is a shame she pissed off so many people and lost her hard won fame.
She really is a great singer. Her skills and abilites are the wonderful.
Just love her stuff, but would not pay to see one
of her shows.
