Was wondering what you like better and checked your ratings, which are pretty close to mine. Strange how some things work for one and others don't. (I like Bridge Over Troubled Water better than this, too, but this is still an 8 at least.) |

More CH! More CH! Play everything that's NOT a hit — Neil and Tim Finn and Co. are brilliant. How about "Silent House" from their latest CD? Brilliant!

Love this song. Sixpence None the Richer sings an interesting interpretation, too.

Brilliant tune- wonderful memories. Funny how powerful it is when those two forces collide/conspire.

I was just listening (the old way, off a CD!) to Paul Carrack's Old, New, Borrowed and Blue album that has a cover of song. He does a great job with the song too, I saw him perform it back in January at The Sage. Crackin venue, that was a good time.

interestingly enough not voted so by the locals. That accolade goes to:
Nature by Fourmyula
altho I'd personally go for
Counting the Beat from the Swingers or
Not given Lightly by Chris Knox... (which come to think of it should be on the playlist)

Funny. Sap isn't what comes to mind. Can't hear this without thinking of when The Stand miniseries came on tv. Molly Ringwald's father just died and evil dude is comforting her.

However, over the past several years, primaily by listening to RP, I have come to realize that I wasted a golden opportunity to follow the career of one of the tigtest and most gifted bands of our time. I've since had the pleasure of exploring their entire catalog (including that of Neil Finn), and Crowded House has quickly turned into one of my desert island bands. This story shows the effect that mainstream American radio can have on the listener and how stations such as Radio Paradise play such an important role in providing the listener with exposure to music and bands not normally available. Now, I am embarrassed that I ever thought of Crowded House as a one hit wonder.
Thankl you, RP.

Not when you're in love.
Even after so many years with the same song and the same woman this never seems stale or sappy.
Besides, the opening guitar riff is one of those clean, beautiful moments in rock music. Like a clean breeze on a clear, cold day. |
