...close, but those few years do make a significant difference - seventeen seconds was released in mid-1980...

the somethings who originally dug on this are now well into their 40somethingness.
i suppose you are referring to the extended mix release date. i always thought those extended "club" mixes were awful. sadly, for some songs they are often the only versions readily available. a particularly egregious example was Billy Idol's White Wedding. Great song-awful extended remix which effectively replaced it. This also happened with alot of the Human Leagues material.

If you think X and its chemical equivalents weren't around in the 70s, you must not have been there.  Trust me, it was a pharmacy, and X was referred to as MDA or, more commonly, the "love drug."

You're really going out on a limb to get those puns in, aren't you? Maybe you should get back to your roots. Or leave.

Not that I'm trying to needle you or anything.

WOW! R. Smith is my favourite singer. "a Forest" 2 memories!
It's a great remix of a great track, but it isn't quite as good as the original.
+1.

Yey! Please play more songs from this great re-mix album by The Cure. I generally hate all remixed stuff, but this album is outstanding, despite all the bashing it receives, even from Cure fans. A particular highlight is the Close to Me remix, of course. Plus, Never Enough is among the all-time best Cure singles.

LOVE the Cure, love the original version of this song, Don't understand why anyone would choose the remixed version. It is taunting me with its aproximation of the original...

Yes, much unrest in the Forest. Rush/Cure: beyond the four-letter name, they're not two artists one often hears in the same breath. But why not?

I'm going to see Rush at Concord in May. Perhaps I'll run into Mr Smith?

Never tire of hearing this, it's aged well after 25 years or so. The Cure are still going strong, very popular in Brazil apparently.

A nice mix of one of the better Cure numbers - really pulls you along. Yer man always sounds like he's on the verge of crying, to my ears at least, which is either cute or irritating depending on personal taste. 7 from the Nottingham jury.
