When it started I thought this was Bruce Hornsby or Stan Ridgeway, but this isn't nearly that good as what I already heard of those two
Not bad though.

Great track. I was first introduced to it by Celtic Frost in the late 80's on Into the Pandemonium.

Absolutely! Some of the most interesting work to come along in the past few decades. Stan tells stories in his music that few musicians have ever even thought of.

That's one way to get thru rush hour. I hope you didn't leave to many wrecks piled by the side of the road. Oh...cool music.

Ridgway is known primarily as the voice of Wall of Voodoo, but his solo work is much more impressive. A good place to start is with the two solo Ridgway LPs from the late 80s after WOV broke up... "The Big Heat" and "Mosquitos" are brilliant and unique albums that deserved a much wider audience.

Bill, how about some Stan Ridgway solo stuff? He's got quite an impressive catalog that goes way beyond the Walll of Voodoo stuff.

I remember 91X too from my jr. high/high school days. If the weather was right, we could get the signal in Los Angeles. Mighty 690 is something I remember from earlier - but I think it was the same idea.

The cool thing is that I first heard this song on Mexican radio - anyone else from So.Cal? The Mighty 690 AM, brodcasting from "south of the border" - giving us an alternative to crappy FM stations in L.A. (KLOS, KMET, even KROQ - each a victim of their own niche). And I was in jr. high, so the AM sound quality wasn't such an issue for me at that point. The video was cool too.

Anybody familiar with a solo retrospective Ridgeway did? I think it was called American Music or something... I bought it for my brother one Christmas because of some incredibly interesting packaging that made me think it was an archive of little gems (like The Basement Tapes). Anyway, I never got to explore it but wanted to. He's one of those artists that have been around, I find interesting but know little about.

I've been hearing that for a decade or more. Anybody have stuff they could upload? I can imagine it's probably good.

This was a good song that I grew tired of in 1983, and don't really need to hear it but once every few years.

I really love this tune. Nice to hear it here. I have a geatest hits cd, some pretty strange stuff. Although I really like Drive She Said too.
