Good, but very depressing. Anyone know "Poor Edward" from the same album? That track is creepy!

I still remember the first time I heard Tom Waits, it was on the soundtrack to an indie film called 'Smoke' back in ... '97. I have never heard him again, aside from CD's I immediatley bought except from RP. Thank you RP.

When he came to town touring for Mule Variations, Tom told the audience that his wife says he only writes two kinds of songs...Grim Reapers and Great Weepers. This is definitely one of the former, and a damned good one at that.
...Never gonna get tired of this man's work.

How cool is it that you can listen to a live broadcast and hear Tom Waits. I always have to discover his stuff by checking on his website.
Great mix

Great Sunday afternoon music! Tom Waits and Modest Mouse are keystones of Sunday Morning music at the Fleetwood Diner in Ann Arbor, Michigan - makes me homesick!

I hardly ever give song a 10. But when this one came on, I didn't have to think twice. This is absolutely one of the best songs Tom Waits (or anyone, for that matter) has ever done. Beautiful, comforting and quiet. God bless him! :D

Yes, exactly like Charles Bukowski, but without the references to child molestation
Uhhhh, you do realize that Lewis Carol was - in fact - infatuated with a child named Alice... and this CD is about Alice in Wonderland. So, maybe a couple of degrees of separation from Michael Jackson land here, but...
And yeah, this disc and Blood Money are frick'n brilliant. --M |
