chipstewart said it best. but i can handle it as long as you don't play vertigo. anyone who is upset about that can just turn on the tv and wait for an ipod commercial or go to a sporting event.

Why do I dislike new U2? Because old U2 is THIS GOOD. A big 10.

The talking knocks it down to a nine but the album is one of the all time greats.

I turned the volume on my car stereo up to 11, opened the windows, and drove really fast through the Arizona desert, singing this song at the top of my lungs. Does life get any better than that?

Brilliant song! Thanks Bill for playing songs off this album that were not the big hits. There was a comment by another listener about how the second half of Joshua Tree had become his favorite since some of the first half had been played to death. I couldn't agree more.

Ah, U2 - the very reason I'm fleeing the commercial airwaves. I'm sick of 'em. The best thing about this song is that it'll be over in a few minutes. U2 is over-rated and over-played - sadly, even on RP.

Well said.

Greatest album ever.

Rolling Stone short-changed The Joshua Tree when they rated it as number 2 album of the 1980's.

Brilliantly plaintive.

Interesting, this tune following Solomon Burke's "None of us are free." This song sounds much more soulful to me.

Joshua Tree just hits my transporter button big time. One of my all time favorite records.

Gorgeous.

i'm not a huge U2 fan, but i have a soft spot for this wonderful release. joshua tree is amazing and most of the songs always touch me and take me back to simpler times. :)

Amen!! My feelings exactly. U2 was good back then and I can respect what they achieved. But my heavens, PLEASE stop giving them so much airplay here. Same thing goes for Sting's solo work. Ugh.

Yes - I'd have to say their best, but War and October come close, followed by Unforgettable Fire and Everything You Want...

This song holds up well years later.

I like U2 (though I don't own any of their albums). This song is not all that great in my opinion. I should be more specific...it's just kind of boring I guess. Not bad though.

YEAH!! After all the "hits" from U2, this is a godsend. I love 'em all, but good to hear the less frequent ones. This is definitely my fave cut from Joshua Tree

a band that may yet be under-rated...yes, even today.

this makes me want to raise my hands in the sky and surrender...in joy, of course!

throwing your hands about in a "Joe Cocker" fashion will work too.)

i don't know if we're listening to different music but we must have different kind of ears....
