Interesting - I noticed your location and, oddly enough, I saw them most recently in KC (can't recall the name of the club though - time before that was @ the Hurricane - which is also odd, being that I live in Miami!). (Oh yeah - the explaination - I have family in the area - I schedule my trips up there around Samples (and other) tour dates).

They're pretty laid back guys. No egos or anything like that. They take the time to hang out with the fans and chat, which makes them top notch in my book. Unfortunately, they only rarely make it to Florida :(

They're a cool bunch of guys too. I just saw them about a month ago in Lawrence and they spent at least an hour after the show talking to fans and signing autographs. My girlfriend is a huge fan-she was all sorts of excited; running around like a 5-year old.

They still tour extensively and tickets are usually under $15. Oh yeah - and Taking Us Home was used in a Disney home video commercial a few years back :)

Still my favorite LP of theirs and also my favorite on the LP. After the keyboard player left (after Last Drag, maybe?), both the recordings and the live performances suffered somewhat, but these guys are real troupers, and I still buy their music.

I'm astounded to hear this on the radio. Bravo!!!!
This album, No Room, is a bit uneven (I usually skip a few of the songs), but the best songs on it are phenomenal. In particular, "When It's Raining" and "Taking Us Home" are definitely worth adding to the playlist along with "Did You Ever...." I think part of "Taking Us Home" was used in a TV commercial sometime last year (ten full years after No Room was released...).

Way to go RP!!!

This song was on "No Room" which was released in April 1992, two months BEFORE Ziggy's "Conscious Party" in June 1992.

It is OK to like both songs and groups.

Samples of a number of very good songs that got decent radio play on AAA format: Taxi (love it!), Another Disaster, When It's Raining, Seasons in the City, Feel Us Shaking, Nature, Waited Up and Weight of the World to name a handful.

These guys are incredible, I just saw them for the first time and they were great, at times I wonder why bands like this don't get "big" for the sake of the bands success and prosperity, but with bands like the samples, I just consider them a best kept secret that only the lucky ones who know about them get to enjoy. If you like this, check these guys out!!! They are well worth it

I can't believe you're playing the Samples! They play pretty good reggae for a hockey team, eh? More, please! There's a lot of good stuff to choose from...
