Let's be clear here. YOU can do without the satchmo stuff.

Therefore, YOU can 1) reduce/eliminate the sound while items YOU can do without are playing; or 2) listen to a station that plays only what YOU like; or 3) listen to YOUR cd's, tapes, whatever, that bring YOU joy.

Those of us who like Mr. Armstrong will then be able to listen to him on this radio station, comforted that we are not annoying YOU.

Very well said... I personally enjoy this music quite a bit and I'm thankful to have a station that plays such a large assortment of music. Thanks RP!

this is the sort of thing which made the once great Mr Armstrong a joke, a buffoon, and an object of derision.

most of what gets played here isn't rock. i don't think that the music played has to match what the little station ID in our media players says. what i've always wondered is why a genre is even nailed down in 'eclectic intelligent rock'. instead of harping on the fact that not all the music played here is rock, why not talk about why it looks labeled when it isn't? this is eclectic intelligent MUSIC. who gives a damn what label it is?
No, no, no. Labels are necessary. It does away with that whole dang-blasted process of thinking. Who has the time?

for the 100 millionth time I think to myself, man what a great, electic mix of music on this station. Have to get that satellite connection for the computer on the home front out in the boonies. Thanks RP! I hear such great favorites, such new songs to me, such variety, I can hardly stand it! ahhhhhhh

it's the same thing with the whole 'intelligent' thing. not all of the music here is deep as hell, either. some of it is pretty superficial, and there's nothing wrong with that. part of being intelligent is letting go and relaxing for a while, right?

let's all do that, shall we? ^_^

Such a great song. Used by Richard Linklater with great success in the end of his movie Slacker.

This one is good about once or twice a year - its in the playlist waaaaaaay too often, especially for a non-rock song.

This song is playing over the credits of "Impostors," a fabulous movie with Oliver Platt and Stanley Tucci. The cast dances along...I can't help but just smile!

Loving it!

This is nowhere near Satchmo's best stuff. It's too long, the lyrics and the music are both dumb, and it's getting overplayed. Louis Armstrong is probably the most important jazz musician period, and this just doesn't do him justice.

There's just no making some people happy.
