Yes, and it's actually pretty pleasant until that little voicecrack as he goes to falsetto and then, at least for me, it goes from "nice, quiet, introspective" to wholly intolerable. Sorry, just can't get past those annoying vocals.

Okay, I get it, he can hit high notes when he goes to falsetto. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't necessarily mean you SHOULD. Just my humble opinion, but you asked...

Whenever I hear the opening piano notes my heart lifts--an REM song I don't know! Then reality sets in: another Coldplay song.

Sigh.

I really can't understand why there is SO much comparison, negative or not, between these guys and U2. Yes - they can sound very similar, but there are so many thousands of other bands out there that sound alike, in all music genres!! Who really cares THAT much.
And if you do - surely listening to just about every tune in RP (or anywhere else) would invoke similar angst towards whoever the hell sounds like them too!

How many TRULY unique sounds are there?

The opening strains of piano just wrenched me emotionally from everything on which I was working...

That kind of rection to this amazing song earns it a 10.

Spare, sincere lyric, beautifully sung, elegantly accompanied. Hope it helps save some relationships, or provides a positive role model for some clueless male
adolescents.

The cool opening piano riff that is used in the verses throughout is my favorite part of this song. I love riffs that make me want to jump on the piano, or pick up a guitar to figure them out.

(note: This icon means I like it. It is booty groovin'.)
