C'mon! This is Dire Straits, all the way. The vocals, the lead guitar. There's no way to get closer to DS than this Calexico tune. Which, also, is "a good thing."

right on.

I'm sure that's true in my case as well.

Indeed so! I would probably never have heard this particular band if it were not for Radio Paradise, and never have discovered how much I liked them. Kudos!

You're confusing it with "gustar" which IS reflexive, as in "Me gusta Calexico." :)Right??

Reflexive means that the object is the same as the subject, in which case we use "self" in English.

"Me gusta" ("I like it," or more literally "It pleases me") is not reflexive. "Me gusto" ("I like myself") would be reflexive.

um, I think it's correct. or should it just be "amo Calexico"? it's been years since I studied Spanish, I'm a bit rusty as to when the reflexive is used or not... in any event, I love myself, too!

Hee hee! Somehow I don't think the band wants to hear that. You said, "I love myself Calexico" :-) But hey, an A for effort.

No doubt about it, these guys are great. Excellent tune.

I like this song, but I'm not really getting the Dire Straits connection. Must be the horns in the background.

Heard these guys for the first time on "The Bunny," while waiting with the masses to get into Coventry, VT about this time last August. Have been a fan since. pretty solid.

I get to see them at SWSX Friday at a Free Concert! Can't get better than that. I saw them twice with Wilco this summer at Austin City Limits Festival and that was my first experience with them. Since then I love their work and look forward to any opportunity to see them.

I think they are great and they even played a couple of songs with Wilco. Concert should be great this Friday.

Oh CRAP. Mark Knopfler came on next. Is the play list out of sink or is my brain crammed with dog dung? (Don't answer that.)
