Shred those frets! Surf with that alien.
Makes me feel like I never should have picked up a guitar. Me, not worthy.
Makes me feel like what he plays is an entirely diferent instrument.

Althought the guy is extremely talented, I catorgize him with Steve Vai, boring when not accompanied by a vocalist.

Geez Bill, it's 3:30 in the afternoon here and I'm falling asleep at my desk. This boring wankery doesn't really help.

To the guy who said "sounds like a Tool rip-off", Satriani has been around a bit longer, so if anything I should think you ought to be thinking "I wonder if Adam Jones listened to Joe Satriani?"

On the "oriental" discussion, oriental means a thing from the Orient. It is disrespectful to call a person Oriental, but it is still quite proper to call a rug, vase, or melody oriental. (reference)

Except for the fact that the beginning of this really sounds like Tool. NOT the other way around. I've never heard any Tool prior to this where I thought, whoa... this sounds like Satch. But this... I clearly hear Tool. I love both, so... I can't imagine saying it "sounds like a tool rip off". But the fact reamains... it does sound heavily tool influenced.

(is it just me, or are the drums/bass in Tool's latest single using possibly the craziest chaotic timing ever put down on wax, and at the same time... completely structured and organized?)

I think XTC's "Greenman" would sound perfect after this song. Although, Remy Zero's "Hermes Bird" sounds pretty good too: same bassline.

Enjoy a name like Satriani performing music like this. Who is the great violinist? My only complaint is that this piece is soporificizing.

Isn't "Oriental" non-PC? Shouldn't the album title be changed to "Asian Melody" or something before someone gets offended?

Someone here must be on top of this situation.

I would think that "Oriental Melody" and "Asian Melody" would be both equally 'PC' or 'Non-PC' which ever way you look at it.

And to say again who cares? I hate the notion that some words are bad and shouldn't be said. Even the nicest PG and PC words can be far worse than 'bad' words.

Satriani is one of my fav guitar players, but he has better songs than this one . Maybe it's time to get some from Crystal Planet.

I don't know...
He is really talented, but it sounds more like a demo CD from a company trying to sell great sounding guitars and effect machines.

For me its a 6. Just sounds to "clean" for my taste

(I'm a drummer, maybe I can't judge it anyway hehe)
