Wow. I haven't heard this before. From the first licks of the song, I had a feeling I'd like it. I was right!

I cannot imagine life without this music now!! thanks! Ditto - minus the copies. My CD writer isn't working. I send my friends to hear Case on RP.

I have the EXACT same tale to tell. I heard "Deep Red Bells" and had my socks knocked off! I was haunted by it for a few days until I could resist no longer. What a remarkable album. Anything from "Blacklisted" should be played on RP. It has the ambience of the wee hours, as one may be alone, introspecting on the evening, life. But hearing any of it is welcome any time.
Like her stuff with "The New Pornographers" as well.

Always willing to give the benefit of the doubt. :)
I love the Blacklisted album, but I was very disappointed when I saw Neko live. The billing was misleading - I expected her with her band, but it was just her and two other female singer/songwriters each taking turns playing acoustic songs, mostly covers. Neko only played 2 of her originals. The way that they giggled and in-joked amongst themselves on stage gave me the distinct impression that they were performing for their own amusement rather than the audience's. So maybe she's better with a real band, but I was disappointed by what I saw. |
