I completely love the long version of this song. I just has more meaning and symbolism than the shorter version. The key of A throughout the interlude is incredible and you are hanging on until the song FINALLY (after about 6 minutes) goes to the D chord and a huge release happens.

Amazing song!

Hey,

I like the humming amplifier(s) right near the end!

It's a fine song, but too frequent hearings don't wear well. It's gotta be the quintessential cowbell song?

Ditto! This song rocks!

"I've been crushed by tumbling time!"

Word! Haven't we all...

I did not go to the Nam war (just missed it), but this song paints a good picture of the madness

I never liked this song.
In fact, I was a young child in the sixties and later I bought many of the albums of that era and liked them a lot. The funny thing is that I listen to very little of that stuff today.
I definitely think that there is a saturation point.

It's probably too obvious of a connection for a master spinner like Bill, but I'd love to see this segue into the Art of Noise song that samples this. Then again, I'd just like to hear some more Art of Noise in general...

I agree with both points. "Art of Noise" very good...

Has anyone heard Steve Earle and Sheryl Crows version? Not as good as the orginal (few things are) but way cool!
I only know the one of Willy de Ville. Not bad either. (Actually, I thought his was the original.)

The Brothers are absolutely an Icon of their era.

I've talked with George several times and he is doing a great service for Christian Music:

Also, my mother's family were Chambers and we are all cousins. Seems there were quite a number of White Chambers at the last Chambers reunion and vice versa.

Would you believe that the Brothers have never received a penny in royalties for "Time".

Got to love the Suits and their contracts.

Oh man...Bill, buddy, Jefe: please play the uncut single version next time. I know it's 11 minutes long, but it's worth it.

Good song, used {insert adverb} in the soundtrack to the movie {almost every movie ever made}. Well, not every movie.. but it sure has been in a lot.

The Chambers Brothers have to be a major icon of the So-Cal club-rock scene. They got their start singing in a Mississippi church as kids.

Keenan, rest in peace brother!

Marconi to the Who to Ozzy Oil to Marley to classic 60s Chambers Brothers.

It does not get better. Is there a Nobel prize for DJing? Bill is the segue supremo!
