I dig all of the Uncle Tupelo incarnations. Most of the time I don't have a good grasp on exactly what they're trying to say (if anything), but I sure like the sound.

Saw Jay Farrar and "Son Volt" in Charleston last year. Great show, but it's really just Farrar. None of the original members are still touring with him. Yes, his songs do have a distinctive sound, jangly power chords and his nasal twang. But, that's why most of us are fans! Their new album is very good as well. I'd recommend it, but then I'm biased.

I have newly discovered Son Volt and love 'em - but does all this album sound the same? I've downloaded "Tear Stained Eye" and "Windfall" and I've heard nothing that sounds different enough to buy in addition. Maybe I just need to be trained... "Route "was close...educate me....
