I've tried to be open minded about this group because there are so many RP folks who like them. I really don't care for their music. The few tunes I have heard here on RP are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Oh well, there's always got to be a minority, right?

You know, if the industry that everyone seems to hate so much is gonna go out and support a group that plays and sounds sparse and edgy, then why the heck do people complain. Some people will never be happy.

This record rocks and it is a welcome addition to the otherwise stale world of cookie cutter triple A crap i.e. Dave Matthews and the like.

Sound like a late 60's-early 70's band. Fair to average at best.

good revival, but not much beyond that level. Certainly a safe bet for the music industry-- kinda sounds like the kinks, and kinda bluesy, but revival punk garage simplistic chords and beat. never going to be too taxing for that listening ear, because you have heard it all before. good for them, they are making a living. ah, I remember when you'd have to fight jocks and red necks if you played garage band tunes, and wore a mohawk. I don't think it is the same anymore. by the early 90's jocks in frat houses listen to the likes of nirvana... redneck bigots thrash about to old germ tunes because they heard green day liked them and because green day is cool, or other stupid reason. you see guys in the military who have a dead kennedys sticker on their chevy truck (!?!?!). the red hot chili peppers lyrics are belted out by drunken college boys that have never left their parents pocket....
ah, garge punk is back, but even better because it is commercial and can sell 8 million records if your lucky. Just ask green day. soon the whites., I'm sure it will pay....
what a strange world.
money means more than freedom.
that's what a strange world it is...

I think it is just one of the songs....
As you don't know...or may do...I do not, generally, 'do' lyrics...
This song, as a result, deserves a '10' for the sheer 'feel' of it......
Brilliant....and if you lot a few below are sick of it then maybe it is that good that stations play it often....ever thought of that?....

I guess one reason I'm sick of this is that the lyrics totally SUCK. "From the Queen of England to the hounds of hell". It's junior high level crap. It's really time for RP to pull the plug on this one.

Horrible, nasal voice, bad players.

Lotsa hype. They're cool. Good, probably not, but cool. Basic rock makes a comeback. That being said, I'm frickin sick of this song.

My girlfriend and I went as the White Stripes for Halloween and nobody could figure out who we were. I don't know how many people guessed Sonny and Cher.

Either our costumes sucked or the White Stripes aren't as well known as I thought. Oh well.

not a bad song, but it gets kinda of annoying if you hear it too often.

Just as an update... My 2-year old is learning to play air drums to this song, and getting quite good ;) Sorry Meg.

"What's that floatin in the watah. Ode Neptuna's only daugtah."

I don't know, I think they're different. The slide guitar on this song isn't on Mr. Grieves, but Frank and Jack's voices can be placed together a bit.

"Hope everything is alright. Hope everthing is alrigh-hi-hi-he-he-t"

Yes. Very pixiesque; was just thinking that when I read your comment. Mr Grieves... now there's a good one to upload.

I simply do not get the hype about this band and this song. People have gone mad about them in the UK as well. I'm afraid I find the music pedestrian and his voice excruciatingly irritating
