Such a nice aural connection. I totally get it. That's why I listen to RP!! Can't hear it anywhere but right HERE.
What he said. Makes me never get tired of RP. |

Once in a great while, the Ramones are ok. Get tired of them real quick, however.

In the "End of the Century" documentary, they mention the Bay City Rollers as one of their influences. Anyway, punk was pop. |

I always liked this song, but I enjoy it all the more when my 10 year old nephew and I are in the car singing it together. Love that he knows all the words to it too.

Zep wrote:In the land of disco, this was "out there." This, like Patti Smith, is quaint today. Daresay Sex Pistols might be too. But it rocks.
There was more than just disco plaguing what was "popular" music at the time that Patti Smith, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, etc. came out. There was Kansas, Boston, Foreigner, Air Supply, Styx, etc. - soulless, mechanical bands for whom the term "corporate rock" was coined. At least disco attempted to be "fun", albeit annoyingly and emptily. The Ramones and their contemporaries gave popular music the kick in the ass that it needed. "Quaint" is a relative term, but I understand your point. Anyhow, that's just my opinion. |

Back when this album came out, I was working midnight-to-six at a little Top-40 AM station that mostly played disco crap.
I didn't really like this song, but because it wasn't disco, I used to play it anyway just because I thought I could get away with it (even though I really thought it pretty much sucked).
I still almost got fired for playing it, which delighted me no end.
Now I kinda like it, even though I still think it pretty much sucks (but in a good way).
