Don't know how I found this CD, it probably called me from some distant shelf on an off beat path...but I love this CD soooo much.....this song is a reminder to me, when I am pissed off with the world, to just chill out! It's one of my favorite songs.....(how many do I have now)?
Thanks RP for playing this Artist-no radio in this desert ever did. |

Actually, I wasn't "going after" anybody. (Why do you assume I was thinking of going after people?) I was just pointing out that nobody had even mentioned Renaissance or Annie Haslam, which seemed like an appropriate reference. Nina Simone might be a closer match for Poe's voice, but I don't think she's quite in this genre of music. Or whatever...
Geez! Everybody is so frigging sensitive! It was just a lame comment, okay? :verysorry: :-#

Yeah, it's nice...but "Center of the Sun"? How about "Carpet of the Sun"? Anybody heard of Renaissance? Annie Haslam? Beautiful voice, great arrangements and orchestration -- where have you guys been for the last 30 years?

I never really knew Poe's music until RP introduced me to Haunted. I picked up the album, and have to agree with bobringer about that whole album being fantastic. I am disappointed at the limited amount of Poe material to be had, and was thrilled to find her work with this group.
I picked up this disc based on Poe's involvement, and was pleasantly surprised to find the entire album to be very enjoyable.
Score another into for RP. The RIAA should be paying Bill a commission--I've spent several hundred dollars on CDs since becoming an RP listener, after spending nearly zero for the five years prior to that.

Not sure I'd go THAT far, as I think Haunted is one of the best albums of the last 10 years. This is pretty tasty though. Good enough for a 10, which says a lot about what I think about Poe.
Agree about the Conjure One album. Outstanding from beginning to end. |

And from what I understand, the same guys do Front Line Assembly.
FLA? Really? Wow...
Not lots of harps being used in FLA stuff. |

Poe doesn't just rock, she boulders. She mountains. She freaking planets. I don't normally go nuts over singers, but I know if I ran into Poe, I'd immediately metamorphose into the biggest fanboy this side of Comic Book Guy. *drool* The album this song is from is the brainchild of Rhys Fulber, and I love his stuff, but it's Poe's vocals that do the trick for me. She could cover New Kids on the Block and make it sizzle.
