I haven't rushed out and scooped up their entire back catalog, but I'm enjoying, many years after their heyday, their frequency on RP and getting to know and understand them as a band—indeed subtly different bands with the inevitable personnel changes.

Universal art is that without time. This song could have been recorded last week or 40 years ago.

Well, US worker productivity is down this year.. Mine is down 16.8% since listening to RP. However, my depression is down 23.7%, so that's a net gain in my book! |

I am rusty on technological evolution, but this album is the best since the formation of our solar system...
this is a great song... absolutely incredible... I remember when it can out... feels like centuries ago... time flies when I'm having fun... sigh... |

I have it and it is interesting indeed. Particularly the scenes during the actual recording process. You hear sax solos and other parts that were modified and rearranged for the final take. And my feeling was that the final versions were perfect and could not be better. Also interesting was the actual mixing process when "all hands on deck" were required to push virtually all the faders during some segues. |

I can't say that I've ever "hated" any of this album - I even had it on 8-track in the mid-70's - but I am certainly tired of hearing most of it, particularly this dirge. Others here obviously enjoy it immensely, and probabaly not because they want to "conform": that's cool too. I can change the station when this "suite" comes on, but that does not mean that I have a "limited imagination". -Peace To quote another famous Floyd album...
