Unfortunately I can hear this kind of music every where I go in beautiful downtown Arizona so I am not partial to hearing it again on RP

This is exactly the kind of music I was hoping to hear! Paradise Radio saves the "airwaves"!!!

Music for fine candlelight dining.

And by fine dining I mean Taco H/Bell.

And by candlelight I mean glaring, flourescent office fixtures.

And by music I mean not this.

...and Brian swore that ,when he grew up he would write a song about his green El Camino, and he would write it in that cool language....whatever THIS is.

I want eclectic online ROCK !!!!

As the Info page says: "different musical styles & genres."

Now, to be fair, Bill, the page title (Radio Paradise - eclectic online rock radio) for the site still has "rock" in it...might want to fix that.

Great tune, love hearing this stuff here.

Did you see them at Ravinia? Fantastic concert!

The band was up on the stage playing and women in the audience were getting up, kicking off their shoes and dancing across the stage. Security would dance them off the stage, then the ladies would cycle right back and dance back across the stage again!!!

Can't blame 'em - we were dancing in the aisles.

Sadly I missed them and they were in my own backyard. They were at the Winnipeg Folk Festival at Bird's Hill Park.

Luckily I listen to RP and got turned onto them & got the album at least.

Upon careful listening to the individual instruments and voices, the melodies and harmonies, and interplay. It is obvious how exceptionally trained and practiced they are. Deceptively simple sounding, yet very sophisticated. Wow.

Amazing musicianship, it was about time the greatness of Cuban musicians was recognized worldwide.

On an aside note: on this tune, you can hear them sing a part of "Cielito lindo" a typical Mexican song :)

me too. i'm so glad i got the chance to see them perform at the mondavi concert series a couple of summers ago in st. helena. the group is passing into eternity at an alarming rate. 4 dead in 2 years. of course, they were as old as dirt to start with, but i'll always be greatful to ry cooder for recording and promoting this group, and arranging a tour before they all passed away.
and how can anyone that loves music not listen to this stuff and at least tap their toes, or more likely, chair dance like i'm doing right now.

Man, rough crowd. Me, I'm eternally grateful for Ry Cooder's serendipitous exposure to these wonderful Cuban musicians. And now that I'm finally done playing BVSC and several solo CD's to death, it's nice to have RP toss one out occasionally. Ya know, nice, like when the Dalai Lama tells Carl Spackler that he'll receive total consciousness on his deathbed.
