Though this is kind of melancholy, I love it when this pops up now and again in the playlist.  I listen at work and when this tune comes up, it's a call to breathe deeply and dream.

If everybody stopped and listened to this song once a day, the world would be a better place.

It doesn't get any more 10 than that!

Would love to hear the rest!
Might be a bit long for RP though, the first movement is probably too lengthy for a lot of people.

Lofty and sophisticated, yet somehow speaks vibrationally to the primal.  This masterpiece of sublime tunesmithery links it all to all.

I'm really enjoying this as an interlude between the more modern tunes.

Lovely transition to this from the new Tori Amos track "Battle of Trees".  Thank you.

is this off of the "greatest hits of 1720" compilation.....man, that record would get the party started!

According to Wiki, the first friction matches didn't come around until a few years after Ludwig van's death, whereas there was a working, albeit clumsy, lighter around a few years before he died.  Rock and roll!

#18 all-time top-rated song (sound of silence) followed by #2 (this one). anything played next other than a day in the life will be a letdown :)

Beethoven was my favorite classical creator to play when I took lessons as a young person.  I could feel the emotions no matter what song.

I wonder if there were guys wearing, "Beethoven" T-shirts, lighting matches and screaming, "Sonata #14!" at his early 19th century concerts. Thanks for throwing this into the mix at Radio Paradise.

What's next?  Little Richard with "Roll Over Beethoven"?  *HA*

Love this!

That would be Chuck Berry actually, but once again, thanks for playing.

Nice to hear on RP.  As long as we're jumping into a little classical, how about some Rachmaninoff too?

Simplicity at it's finest. Pure and Godlike. This is genius and transcends to any religion, creed...all humankind. Emotion in it's rarest form. Simple piano. Love this!

Must be the time of day or the fact that we still have so much snow up here in Canada but this just seems draggy and depressing.
