Good music for bringing the Passover seder up to date. Otherwise....a bit mishugga.

I'm new to RP, and quite happy to hear Joe Strummer..........Saw the Clash several times and to find a forum for anyone who clashed, works very well for me.

Same here. I fail to see how playing a song a lot ruins it. It is still the same energy, creativity etc...that doesn't change. Just play it man, and I'll listen and keep finding new ways to enjoy it. Listening can also be a creative process... |

I'm not someone who gets to listen to RP more than a few times a week, but I swear I've heard this Spearhead/Marley/Strummer set at least 10 times over the last few months....
Is there any way we can mix it up a bit more????

I like this song...I really do. But it's getting perilously close to being overplayed, RP. Let's slow down on the Strummer a bit.
Thanks.

All of the claims below about just how unbelievably great this record is are 100% accurate. It actually wells up a bit of tear in me to think of this as his swansong. Perhaps the strongest thing with his name on it since London Calling. More mature, more worldly, every bit as street-smart and constructively punk in attitude.

Great song! Considering what a Clash fan I am, I'm ashamed I don't own this album yet.

Got to add to all the comments about how kickin' this album is. I love the way Strummer can play across the entire spectrum of rock, punk, reggae, even bluegrassy country....really suprisingly good.

I agree. But the Strummer-only Clash was pretty tame. Maybe... the whole was greater than the sum of its parts? Hmm.
Still waiting for Netflix to get Straight to Hell. I think I'll be waiting a long time... |

UNCUT magazine wrote:Joe Strummer's sudden death last December seemingly brought the career of one of our greatest rockers to an abrupt end. But what makes Streetcore, the album he'd all but completed at the the time of his death, so thrilling and fulfilling is that it brings both closure and new meaning to the man's life and work...
...bruising punk collides with reggae-inflected prophesy on 'Get Down Moses', presenting an activist call to arms ('Who's sponsoring the crack ghettoes?/We got to take the walls to Jericho')

I liked the Clash, and felt bad when they broke up. I liked Big Audio Dynamite, too. But I never felt much for Strummer.
For the past few weeks, Bill seems to be playing a Strummer song every night, and I'm totally digging them.
Like it was said below...One more CD to buy...

I just love the music of Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros...the "rawness", but yet all the layers of influences...this is just great. My favorite songs of the moment are Global a go-go and Bhindi Bhagee...I just can't get that cd out of my CDplayer. This one is pretty good too !
