I agree 100 percent. I never thought that Sting would make a fortune recording dentist chair muzak....booooo. Hey Gordo, please patch up your differences with Stew and Andy and reform the Police.

As a huge Police fan, I cringe every time I hear this adult contemporary pap. Everything I love about the young Sting is muted and over produced in this slick mass appeal crud.

My favorite solo sting song, can't quite like him solo more than the Police, although this one is awesome.

The Soul Cages was an amazing record, the pinnacle of Sting's solo career,in my opinion. It's full of rich, complex songs and this is one of them. I guess in a kneejerk reaction kind of way I can see how some might think it's just overdone. Your loss. Listen closely to the song (and try to believe you might actually like it) and you'll hear amazing music and lyrics. The whole album is like that, really, truly a classic recording. As much as he is full of himself I gotta hand it to Sting for creating some seriously brilliant music.

And by the way, I second everything that "hcaudill" said below.

Hehehe.....i've been watching the Mad About You TV DVDs lately....that's funny to me I've never heard this song before. I love the smooth layers of all of stings songs with his honey tone vioce. I dig it!!

The artists' personality quirks and private life don't interest me much, I focus on the art - this is a great song.

Sorry some of you seem to have hit below par live shows. I remember seeing Sting some years back in Newcastle (UK for those who don't know) The fuses blew and there was no amps of any kind for for the second half of the show. It just made the whole experience even better. The horns and drums being careful not to drown what could be heard of acoustic guitars. And Stings powerful voice over the top of it all filling the theatre. Wish you had been there!
