Listen to 'Digging in the Dirt" by Peter Gabriel then listen to this song....hmmmmmm

Windows Media Player says both of these tracks are recorded at 160 Kb/sec. Why then does the bass sound so bad? Overdriven microphones or amplifiers maybe?
