Funny, I had the opposite reaction. Jazz is hands down my least favorite genre of music, and I especially dislike the sort of pop lounge junk that Ms. Krall usually does. But this really grew on me as it played...would love to hear the Tom Waits version.

Is that prodigy or protege? Or both? ;)

Fair to middling song at best...I think she needs an O2 tank.

Yes, but Holly Cole wasn't the prodige of Clearchannel.

Errrr 'cause she's also a hottie? Who woulda thunk that such a tremendous talent once went to school in near the same VI area locales as moi. As a Vancouver-area-ite, I would've thought you would want to claim her as your own ....?

I think the overabundance of glamour shots is because she doesn't think she's beautiful ---- which of course she is, in a non-mainstream, kinda jazzy, someonewhowouldmarryElvis way. Knowwhatimean?

funny. when i turned the stream off to go to bed at about 2 am, this was on. then, i go to turn it on again at 12 45 pm, when i've just woken up and it's on again! it's as if the stream picked up where it left off!

luckily it's not a bad song. heh.

Absolutely. Diana Krall is.... "pleasant" and overrated. And why do all her CDs have 9, 10, 12 glamour shots of her?

I surely miss the raw brass beat of Tom Waits' version. This was interesting to hear, even though I prefer the original.

Seems very strange
to hear that sweet voice do this after hearing Tom do it 1000 times.

I don't know if I like it, but I find it intresting.

Instead of referring to her as Mrs. Elvis Costello,

he should be referred to as Mr. Diana Krall.

Her work is, imho, superior.
