Without a doubt the best Rock 'n Roll song ever.  Always reminds me of my childhood and watching Back to the Future. ;)

An excellent segue from The Ramones' Rock N Roll Radio. It's difficult to explain why a number as simple as this has lasted so long, and has been covered so often. Maybe it is the simplicity that allows for so many variations. 8 from the Nottingham jury.

Laughing... Yeah - and his rather sheepish recovery.... "You don't get it now, but your kids are gonna LOVE it!"  And truer words were never spoken... Long live rock and roll according to Chuck Berry. {#Dancingbanana_2}

  And it never gets tired, like other rock n' roll songs (even other great ones).

  I wonder — why is that?

The 12 people who rated this a "1" need to have someone explain to them how numbers work.

Hey Rick! It's your cousin Marvin! Marvin Astley! You know that mediocre, generic sound you've been looking for? Well listen to this!

IMHO, one of the inventors of rock'n'roll—along with Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Bo Diddley. Did y'all catch the recent article in Rolling Stone? Pretty revealing. (Not on their website yet...)

I just love this song. I think of Michael J. Fox in one of the "Back to the Future" movies, playing this song and watching as the generation of that time goggled, gasped, and looked totally flummoxed - and his line, (paraphrased), "Trust me - your kids are gonna LOVE this!"

And even now, when I hear a Chuck Berry song, I think, "Yeah, my kids are gonna LOVE this!"  And I don't even have kids.

"Hello, this is your cousin, Marvin Berry..."
