Ladies and Gentleman: Mr. Chuck Berry! simply the best....a trailblazer.....the word "iconic" is used way too much nowadays, but truly he was iconic....there are many who have followed.....but none ever surpassed him

This is dated the way that Bach and Duke Ellington are dated. This is important music because it is classic. I love hearing it.

I've been cutting back on my "10's" so that they're not diluted. But for this, I'm reminded of a comment someone made for another song that we should all have the ability to choose a single song and rate it 11. For me, this would be that song. As someone posted in a previous comment, this is the rock upon which the entire castle has been built. And it STILL ROCKS!

alot of people recorded this that were better guitar players than Chuck but most didn't bring the dynamics to the stage Chuck did , he opened for the Stones and put on a show that was flat amazing, Stones came on played several numbers and everybody started chanting Chuck Chuck Chuck, think they dropped him as opener after that

Okay 10 as a history lesson, 5 as a song.

Every guitarist in the world could play this when they were 5 years old.

Most were sick of it when they were 6.

But, didn't Keith Richards, in his movie about Berry, make the roundabout point that this must've been written by the piano player?
